Who runs the academy?

Zheng Yuli (Chinese: 郑昱鲤) is a retired female badminton player from China.

Career

She earned a bronze medal as a semifinalist at both the 1985 IBF World Championships and 1987 IBF World Championships in women's singles, dropping three set matches in each case to her compatriots Han Aiping and Li Lingwei respectively.

She won the women's singles at the Japan Open in 1984 and at the Denmark Open in 1984 and 1986. Zheng played on Uber Cup (women's international) championship teams for China in 1986 and 1988.

Yuli now lives in Perth with her 2 daughters.

The academy was started in 2009.

The academy caters for children interested in playing badminton as a hobby and sport.

The academy also supports the Western Australia State Badminton teams.

YuLi coached the 2012, 2013 , 2014 and 2016 Under 17s WA badminton State team. The 2014 team won a historical bronze medal. Results of the 2nd An Yu and Tan and Tan Lawyers Family Tournament

What a great day of family bonding we had at the 2nd Annual An Yu and Tan and Tan Lawyers Family Tournament. There were over 50 teams competing this year in 4 categories.

The categories were:

Under 11, Under 14, Under 17 and Open grade for players who have been in WA state teams.

The winners were:

Under 11:

1st Ardy Xiao and Selina Xiao

3rd Jack Eing and Zen Dian Eing

Under 14 :

Under 17:

1st Trevor Brevis and Jasmine Tan
2nd Romy and Allan Puhalovich
3rd Alicia Xu and WenLiang Sim

Open Category:

1st Raymond and Tyzton Tan
2nd Chin We Lee and Jason Lee
3rd Wendy and Ying Xiang Lin

It was great to see some of the younger players from last year's tournament competing again this year. Their improved badminton skills were very obvious from the last tournament thanks to Yuli's training.
