Another good day at the tournaments for Yuli's students in the Livelighter Kingsway 2017 Tournament

Dear readers

For the first tournament of the year organised by BAWA, Anyu Academy's students have again blitzed the field.

Many of the young players are taking part playing against much more experienced adults and beating them. This is testament to the good work done by Yuli in training her young charges, She also teaches them manners and humility too.

However, some of these players do get too vocal in court to the embarrassment of their parents.

Xiang came in 2nd in the mens singles while Kai Chen and Jason Lee came in 3rd.

Jonny Kok was a real giant slayer at 14 winning the one silver against much older players in the A Reserve Singles.

Jason and SunYee came in 3rd and 4th. Jackie Zheng managed a 3rd place in the MS B Grade. Again a young 14 year old going places.

Bella got a silver in the Open singles losing to Elaine Wong.

Alicia won the WS A Reserve while Berniece Teoh got the silver. Both played against much older players. Joanne Zheng was 3rd in the WS B Grade singles. Young Joanne must have scared all the adult players. She went on to win the gold in the WS C grade.

Even Febby Ong managed her 1st BAWA medal winning the WS Recreational Gold. Good work on her.

Xiang and Tyzton got gold after beating Kai Chen and Jason in the MD Open. Again an all ANYU Team finals.

In the BD Under 15, Matthew Cunningham and Timothy Sentosa got the gold.

Angie got the adult flag burning for Anyu winning the WD doubles with Crystal Diep.

Bella was 3rd with Hoi Ki Fu.

In A Reserve, Katrina and Bernice Teoh won the gold. Janice and Jasmine came in 3rd.

In the XD, Kai Chen and Bella got gold. Romy and Katrina managed a silver against the adults.

Some of these players won cheques for cash. Are they going to reimburse their parents with their winnings :)

All these players have been training hard. Many are in the Under 17s team with the nationals coming up soon. Good luck to them.

Is this young player a new Yuli student?
